About PlayingScorp

Hi! I’m Kirill, the person behind PlayingScorp. I refurbish and customize Sony PSP consoles by hand, with a focus on the PSP 3000, transparent shells, and colour combinations that give each build its own character.

I’m also a graphic designer and photographer, so the visual side of PlayingScorp is a big part of what I do. From choosing shell and button colours to photographing the finished console, I enjoy working on the details.

A fresh look for a familiar console

There’s something special about a handheld dedicated to playing games. Physical buttons, a pocket-sized screen, and a favourite game you can return to whenever you have a little time.

That’s the feeling I want to keep with PlayingScorp. My builds bring together original Sony hardware and a fresh exterior, giving these older consoles another chapter.

You’ll find everything from subtle clear black builds to brighter purple, blue, green, and pink combinations. If you have a particular colour combination in mind, feel free to ask me about it.

 How I refurbish each PSP

The work starts inside the console. I disassemble each PSP, clean the parts, inspect its condition, and prepare it for reassembly in a new shell. Original buttons are cleaned and polished where they are retained, and components are replaced when needed.

My custom PSP 3000 builds receive a brand-new replacement housing and a new OSTENT 1200mAh battery. These are refurbished Sony consoles with a combination of original and replacement parts. Storage, firmware, and included accessories are specified on each product page so you can check exactly what you’re ordering.

Before shipping, I test the UMD drive, buttons, analog stick, charging, audio, and screen. The finished console is then prepared and packed with the accessories listed for that build.

Help from the person who built it

I also handle customer questions and support. If you need help choosing a console, understanding its setup, or sorting out a problem after delivery, you can message me directly.

Each console includes a 3-month limited warranty covering hardware defects and issues under normal use. You can find the full terms on my warranty page, along with separate information about shipping and returns.
